Therefore: I'm holding a giveaway, because who doesn't love free book money?
Weird, non-bookish people, that's who.
Weird, non-bookish people, that's who.
Since I'm turning 20 years old, I'm giving one person a Barnes and Noble Gift Card worth $20 (US only). You'll have exactly one week to enter, and the winner will be chosen at random. Just fill out the Rafflecopter below!
Happy Pre- Birthday! Twenty is a pretty cool one as you're officially no longer a teenager(tho if this makes you sad, forget I said that!) =) Fav books are whatever Maggie Stiefvater writes, so you know it'd have to go toward Blue Lily!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Leandra! I'm so excited (I'm the youngest of all of my friends), but I'll no longer be a teenager: both a good and a sad thing to realize that I'm growing up. And Maggie Stiefvater is one of my favorite authors; good choice!
DeleteHappy week-early birthday, Rae Rae! I love the fact that you give away stuff for your birthday. (Not that I'm directly anticipating winning anything because I hardly ever do, and this is all in good fun.) But EEP! I'm so excited for you and your birthday and the holidays and everything.
ReplyDeleteIf I DID get the giftcard, on the very rare chance, I'd probably go buy another journal, and I really want to get my hands on Claudia Gray's A Thousand Pieces of You. :3
Thank you, Hannah, dear ^_^ Haha, and thank you; it's always been a tradition of mine (sort of). I used to make cookies and take them to school to give to people and everyone always looked at me funny, but hey.
DeleteJournals are SO nice! Good choice; and once you do get a chance to get A Thousand Pieces of You, let me know how it is? Good luck!
My favorite book right now is Dark Places by Gillian Flynn. SO GOOD. In my opinion, much better than Gone Girl. If I win, I'm going to buy some of my writer friends' books! And Happy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteI just looked up Dark Places; it does sound interesting. I'm adding it to my to-read list! And aw, that's so sweet of you! And thank you!
DeleteHappy early birthday!! Choosing my favorite book is basically impossible, but one of my favorite reads this year was HALF BAD by Sally Green. Looooved the writing style, it's super intense, and the take on witches/magic is basically my favorite since HARRY POTTER. So. Super highly recommended (assuming you haven't read it already).
ReplyDeleteAlso, I just noticed I'm on your blog roll. Thanks so much! ^_^
Thank you, Ava!
DeleteOh, I've seen you mention HALF BAD a few times, and I've been dying to get my hands on it. I'm putting it down on my next shopping list!
And you are so welcome! I check your blog every day that you post, and you always have something fantastic to say. So thank you!
I really like Water for Elephants.
ReplyDeleteAnother book that I've heard good things about. I'll keep it in mind!
DeleteHappy almost birthday! I'm not even sure I could pick a favorite book; there are so many that I love and hold dear. Two of the best books I've read this year are Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour and The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. (I'm currently devouring the third Raven Boys book: Blue Lily, Lily Blue.)
ReplyDeleteIf I won this giveaway, I would probably go out and get A Thousand Pieces of You by Claudia Gray (I've been waiting to read it!) or maybe Loop by Karen Akins. :) Not sure which one yet...
Thank you, Melanie! I've never looked up EVERYTHING LEADS TO YOU, but THE RAVEN BOYS is one of my favorite books! I picked it up over the summer and just devoured it, followed by THE DREAM THIEVES. BLUE LILY, LILY BLUE actually just made it to my doorstep this weekend, so I'm definitely excited to sink my teeth into it!
DeleteAnd you're actually the second person to say that you'd buy yourself A THOUSAND PIECES OF YOU. I think I'm missing out on something, so I'm band-wagoning this and saying that I'll go looking for it, too. Thanks for entering!
Happy, happy birthday, Rae--and thanks so much for this giveaway! I'm not sure what I'd choose for a favorite book--of course, Harry Potter will always be dear to my heart, and it's such a given it seems like cheating to choose it, haha--but some of my absolute favorites are Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta, The Fault in Our Stars by John Green (of course), the Gemma Doyle trilogy by Libba Bray, and my eternal love, The Raven Boys by Maggie Stiefvater. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not totally sure what I'd buy with giftcard, but I need a book on organic orcharding for research for my WIP, and I'd also like to buy myself copies of The Archived by Victoria Schwab and When We Wake by Karen Healey soon. I've read them both, but don't own copies yet, and I love them enough to want them on my shelf!
Hugs!
Yet another person who's stolen my heart for naming THE RAVEN BOYS as one of their favorite books. I'd heard a bunch of hype about it from friends and finally decided to try it out, and it's one of the few books I believe actually lives up to all of the hype surrounding it. Good choice!
DeleteAnd since I'm writing this after the giveaway's ended: congratulations! I can totally dig you using it as research for a WIP; one of the funnest things is walking out of a bookstore with a somewhat random purchase, all for a novel you're working on!
Thanks for the birthday wishes, Taylor!
Ah, The Raven Boys. I'm so pleased that so many people love it--all the more room to fangirl, haha! And thank you, I'm so super excited to have won...can't wait to buy ALL THE BOOKS! ;)
