My first drafts tend to be just me, writing randomly, hoping to finish it. Then comes the making sense of the pot and characters; I'm always learning new things about them that tend to change some aspect of my WIP.

And don't worry, we're all mad here ;)Rae Oestreichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11102209066412105186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8624302039838757491.post-33466890485534881652015-01-20T09:28:03.917-07:002015-01-20T09:28:03.917-07:00*bows* Sometimes, I am so witty that I surprise ev...*bows* Sometimes, I am so witty that I surprise even myself. I'm glad I'm not alone, though! And yeah, you do; I mean, usually my characters ignore me, but sometimes they really have quite a few words....Rae Oestreichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11102209066412105186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8624302039838757491.post-40826242145878305692015-01-20T09:26:46.972-07:002015-01-20T09:26:46.972-07:00Admittedly, it's not something I do often. Occasionally, though, it's just a lot of fun XD If you try it, let me know how it works for you!Rae Oestreichhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11102209066412105186noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8624302039838757491.post-3550636077494088962015-01-19T17:39:30.364-07:002015-01-19T17:39:30.364-07:00You're INSANE!

I just stopped trying to be Chris in the stories, and instead I let the characters do whatever they want, and I just scribble as fast as I can trying to keep up.

Note: Once that has happened, I don't go all editing the story, because it's not my story anymore. I'll hunt the typos down and the bad grammar, because those are my fault, but I'll leave the tale untouched.

Another also: I don't usually get down to writing until after the long process of mentally allowing the character of the storyteller to come forward and start telling me about their story. After some time, once I trust there's not some ploy to take me over and make me buy and consume inordinate amounts of chocolate ice cream, (Haagen Dazs!) I just sit down with pen and paper and listen to the telling of the tale.

Sometimes, I get out of the way enough that the character's voice is heard.

And I like that.

Yes, some people will think me insane. They'll be right, too!

Muhahahahaha!Christopherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16423688899751559332noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8624302039838757491.post-37917516894480269082015-01-19T10:13:44.358-07:002015-01-19T10:13:44.358-07:00I'll admit it, you made me laugh.
